Our half-day tour with Makoon was one of the highlights of our entire Japan trip. Even though it was only a few hours, it felt like we experienced so much of Kyoto in such a fun, seamless way. As first-time visitors, we really appreciated how Makoon blended fascinating history and cultural context with visits to both the iconic sights and hidden gems we never would have found on our own.
Beyond the tour itself, Makoon’s local restaurant recommendations were absolutely incredible — they ended up being some of our favorite meals in all of Japan. The entire experience felt authentic, personal, and unforgettable. We truly couldn’t recommend Makoon more highly!
