I can guess that 99% of the people looking to book an amazing, unforgettable trip to Japan have done a LOT of research. Through YouTube, Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook travel groups…you’ve put together a list of must-see landmarks, viral food destinations, and notable bars and matcha houses to try.
That was me 3 weeks ago. 4 months of “JaPlanning” and I had every ticket booked, reservation made, Google Maps marked and train station map downloaded. We walked 25k steps a day, got our Instagram posts, fumbled through the trains, and had the time of our lives!
Did we have an incredible, unforgettable, mesmerizing trip? Yes, of course! But on the day we hired Makoon (upon a recommendation) for a full day around Kyoto, we truly had the day we always wanted and dreamed of.
Makoon gave us the peace of mind to let us finally live in the moment and not think about transportation, the time, where we wer, what was next, or what we were looking at. He curated a day, based exactly on what we wanted, and guided us into a deep dive of the culture food, history, sake/coffee/matcha, and daily life in Kyoto.
Instead of staring at Google Maps to get us to our next shop or hoping our Go Taxi would pick us up on the way to lunch…Makoon made it look easy to never rush us to anything and yet, we hit 26k steps that day, on less beaten paths, crossing paths with Monks and Maikos, seeing Cherry Blossoms that are untouched by social media.
We asked for a deep-dive on history and culture and Makoon over-delivered. But he proudly told us stories of those who just needed a little bit of a guidance on when and where to go. It shows his expertise on how to truly take the needs of his clients and build a custom itinerary.
Makoon is specialized, talented, funny, kind, patient, knowledgable, a load of fun and genuine.
We hope to cross paths with him again sooner than later, and could not recommend anyone more to enjoy your day with, than Makoon.
